Regular followers in the COMK Facebook page would have seen our post about the highest temperature of the year clocked in Chennai today.
At 34.1 Degrees recorded at the Kea Metsite, Chennai’s first private weather station, 18th March was the hottest day of the year so far. But in the same context people from the western suburbs would have observed the presence of due & mist early in the mornings. Especially around Poonamallee / Thirumazhisai etc.
Thanks to the almost clear skies the day time temperatures are showing an increase and for the same reason the night temperature is lesser than the normal. This is expected to continue for this week with Chennai having a maximum temperature between 33 and 34 degrees. The minimum is expected to be around 23 degrees for this week post which both the day time and night temperature would slowly start to increase. From end of next week the day time temperature for Chennai could touch 36 degrees. Interior Tamil Nadu would start seeing the Summer start in earnest from next week.
