After couple of days of widespread rains over most parts of Tamil Nadu, yesterday saw isolated rains over one or two places. Parts of Chennai received passing showers late in the night.
Southwest Monsoon Update: The Monsoon axis is now firmly along the Himalayan Foothills. With the Upper Air Circulation still over Bihar / East UP region providing some impetus to rains over East India, thanks to Orographic effect parts of NE India and Sub Himalayan West Bengal could receive very heavy rains over the next couple of days. West Coast will continue its monsoon revival as the UAC has ensured the perfect alignment of lower level cross equatorial moisture for South Karnataka & Kerala. This will give heavy rains to one or two places over West Peninsular Coast. Thanks to wind confluence over the interior regions of Karnataka there is a possibility of good rains over South Interior Karnataka as well.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Most parts of Tamil Nadu could see cloudy skies with Coastal TN potentially getting some isolated showers in the early part of the day. One or two places in the Western Ghats region could get heavy spells of rains.
Chennai Weather Update: Chennai could have a warm day around 35°C. Some areas could receive spells of rains during the early part of day if the lower level moisture incursion is strong enough to reach North Coastal TN.
