Tamil Nadu Weather – Hot Days to Subside

A few areas around Tambaram and south of Tambaram received some spell of rains last night, while to the North areas around Madhavaram received passing showers in the evening.

Southwest Monsoon continues to be very active over West Coast, particularly around the coast of Karnataka & North Kerala thanks to the off shore trough.  While Konkan region is still to get heavy spells of rains yet the situation is expected to improve within the next 24 hours one or two places in Konkan region will get heavy rains in the next day or two.

In what could be a welcome development North Coastal Tamil Nadu Weather could take a turn for the good with the extreme hot days subsiding.  Yesterday Nagapattinam at 38.5°C was the hottest.  Chennai saw temperature of 37°C for the second day in a row.  These conditions are expected to continue with the extreme heat conditions that prevailed over the first half of July showing signs of ending with monsoon picking up over West Coast and increased cloud cover over most parts of Peninsular India.

Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Evening Thunderstorms over a few places of North Tamil Nadu, one or two places in Nilgiris district to get heavy spells of rains.  Kanyakumari district could see isolated rains.

Chennai Weather Update: Chennai to see a warm day with temperatures around 36°C with sea breeze setting around 2 PM.  The strong sea breeze is expected to trigger some thunderstorms in the evening at many places over North Coastal Tamil Nadu.  Good chance of rains over many areas of Chennai with south suburbs possibly getting better spells.
