Last night saw fairly heavy spells of rains over many parts of North TN particularly in the districts of Villupuram, Kanchipuram & Tiruvannamalai. Cuddalore has received 56 mm accordingly the TN Agricultural University AWS Network. Gingee in Villupuram district has received 54 mm from overnight rains
Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from more parts of East India and some parts of Central India as well. Thunderstorms associated with the retreating monsoon has been providing heavy rains to parts of Maharashtra. Today the rains could see a slight shift with parts of South Karnataka in the areas adjoining Mysore, Bangalore region in line to receive some heavy spells of rains. Western Peninsular Coast is expected to receive spells of rains from the lower level moisture incursion.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Last night saw fairly widespread rains over many parts of North TN including the districts of Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Kanchipuram & Cuddalore.
Today thanks to the wind convergence the Western TN districts of Salem, Dharmapuri & Krishnagiri, Erode & Namakkal could potentially receive heavy spells of rains, there is a possibility of one or two places getting intense spells of rains around Salem. Delta districts around Trichy Perambalur, Ariyalur & Thanjavur also stand a decent chance to get some rains while a few places in the Coastal Belt between Pondy & Vedaranyam could see isolated spells of heavy rains.
Chennai Weather Update: Partly cloudy skies for Chennai with day time temperature around 34°C. The rain prospects for Chennai would hugely depend on wind support towards the evening. Western & Southern Suburbs could receive isolated spells of evening rains.
