Southwest Monsoon to bring heavy rains to parts of AP & TS states

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Ever since the Southwest Monsoon season started from June 1st, both Andhra Pradesh & Telengana states have seen regular rains bringing in much needed relief to the states that was reeling under two very poor years from both Southwest Monsoon & Northeast Monsoon.  While the early part of June brought in rains through thunderstorms the last couple of weeks have seen couple of disturbances align in the right directions for rains in these two states.  The current Low Pressure in Bay also has been giving good rains to the region with parts of Hyderabad receiving heavy rains last night which is expected to continue today as well.

In the meanwhile Southwest Monsoon is at the doors of the Capital of India as the Northern Limit of the Monsoon has covered most parts of Madhya Pradesh and is right at the MP / UP border near Gwalior and is expected to cover Delhi as well in the next day or two.  As things stand except for Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, UP, Haryana, Punjab & MP all other states are fully covered. Among these states only Delhi, Haryana, & Punjab have not come under the influence of Monsoon at all so far, rest of all the states have parts of the state already under the influence of Southwest Monsoon.

Weather_Update

With the Low Pressure in Bay of Bengal right off Odisha Coast we are likely to see heavy rains over Central India particularly around Chhattisgarh, Telengana and parts of Vidharbha also seeing one or two places getting good rains. Extremely heavy rains are likely in one or two places of Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Telengana as moisture gets dragged right over Peninsular India on its way towards the Low Pressure Area in Bay.

Tamil Nadu could see mostly dry weather across the state with some rains likely in the South TN region around Kanyakumari & Tirunelveli districts while the places adjoining the Western Ghats could see isolated spells of rains in a few areas.  North TN could see isolated light rains but as such rain prospects for places like Chennai is much lesser than the last couple of days.
