Yesterday Chennai saw cloudy skies right through the day with temperature not crossing 35°C though thanks to the cloud cover Humidity was high making it uncomfortable. While there was some late night thunderstorms brewing to the West of Chennai, unfortunately they did not make the journey to the coast providing no rainfall opportunities for Chennai.

Last Night saw rains in many places of Chennai with heavier spells of rains recorded in the Northern Suburbs. Madhavaram recorded 24 mm of rains while Puzhal recorded 15 mm of rains. The IMD Automatic Weather Station in Nungambakkam recorded 3 mm rains.

Last evening saw parts of OMR, Kelambakkam & Tiruporur receive spells of rains in a few areas. Tiruporur received 4 mm rains while a Private Weather Station in Paniyur near Uthandi received about 2 mm rainfall.
