Northeast Monsoon is extremely active over South Tamil Nadu with some heavy rains and flooding reported in Tirunelveli, Thootukudi and Kanyakumari districts.
A combination of Wind of Disctontinuity & Low Pressure Trough adjacent to Sri Lanka has been providing good moisture for these rains in South Tamil Nadu
The rains are expected to continue for another couple of days while North TN in all probability has to keep looking with jealousy. As things stand the earliest opportunity for Chennai to get some decent rains would be around month end though prudence should be advised as of now rather than building expectation as the probability of the dry days for Chennai running for the reminder of November still exists.
