Northeast Monsoon active over North Tamil Nadu

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Yesterday saw Northeast Monsoon vigorous over North Tamil Nadu once again with many places in the coastal region getting moderate to heavy rains.  The Airport observatory received 49 mm from rains yesterday while the COMK weather station in Anna Nagar has received 30 mm till morning.

The rains are expected to slow down over Coastal Tamil Nadu as the Easterly trough which has created the wind convergence effect has moved slightly North towards South Karnataka / Rayalseema region.  This could bring heavy rains over few places in South Karnataka, Rayalseema and North Interior TN particularly around Vellore / Tiruvannamalai / Krishnagiri districts.  Rest of the state would slowly start to see reduced rains as the day progresses.  North Coastal TN could see early morning rains at many places which would stop as the day breaks.
