Yesterday saw pretty much abnormal Weather in Tamil Nadu with the usual interior places not as hot as a normal day. The maximum temperature at Vellore probably indicates how abnormal weather in Tamil Nadu was yesterday with the maximum temperature only being 33.9 making it one of the cooler places in the plains of Tamil Nadu. This also indicates the cloudy skies which most parts of North Tamil Nadu saw yesterday during the early part of the day.
Today we are likely to see an increase in temperatures over the interior parts of Tamil Nadu as much more clearer skies are expected compared to yesterday. A few places in North Tamil Nadu will possibly inch closer to 40 degrees as day time max while the coastal places like Chennai could see a day time max of around 38 degrees.
While Peninsular India will continue to receive pre monsoon thunderstorms today as well it appears going by model outputs the chances of thunderstorms seem to be higher for West Coast of Karnataka under the influence of the Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation in Arabian Sea. Similarly parts of Telengana & Coastal AP could get benefited from thunderstorms today under the effect of atmospheric instability. The region around North Coastal AP & adjoining parts of Odisha could see another day of Norwester with gale force winds and heavy rains expected in a few places around that region.
It is going to be fairly Dry Weather in Tamil Nadu except for some isolated rains in one or two places in West Interior Tamil Nadu and parts of the Nilgiris region.
In the meanwhile there is an evolving Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation that is likely to bring rainy days back to the East Coast of Peninsular India though the next 24 – 36 hours will decide which of the coastal areas could get these rains.
