Northeast Monsoon Update: With a new Trough of Low Pressure now forming in SE Bay we have a battle of supremacy running in the sea.  This trough along with the already existing one near Sri Lanka is fighting out to evolve as the dominant circulation.  It appears most models expect the one near Andaman to become the next Low Pressure in Bay of Bengal.  As this moves towards the coast the rainfall prospects for Coastal Tamil Nadu will increase.

Rainfall Update for Meteorological Day 30th Nov. (8:30 to 8:30 : Fairly widespread rains expected over Coastal Tamil Nadu particularly the stretch between Nellore & Pondicherry.   Early  morning showers are expected to continue till about 11 AM or so with some moderate spells during this time.  Spells of rains expected right through the day with breaks in between.  The rains are expected to intensify once again late Monday evening or Tuesday after midnight.  Like yesterday good chance for parts of South TN also to receive heavy spells of rains particularly the stretch between Rameswaram & Kanyakumari.
