Low Pressure in Bay continues to give Heavy Rains over AP & TS

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Low Pressure in Bay lying off Coastal Andhra Pradesh has intensified into a Well Marked Low and has been creating havoc over Andhra Pradesh & Telengana with many places recording heavy to very heavy rains over the last couple of days.  Localized flooding has been reported in many places around Guntur region with train traffic also affected.  Similarly severe water logging was reported in the Telengana capital Hyderabad as well which has been reeling under the intense spells of heavy rains.  Weather_Update_1

As one can understand from the Precipitation Accumulation chart for the last 3 days it is parts of AP & Telengana which has recorded the heaviest spells of rains particularly around Hyderabad & Vijayawada the two capital regions.  One could possibly infer the role played by the angle of the monsoon surge created by the Low Pressure in Bay and possibly its almost stationary position as the likely reason for such intense rains to lash over the last couple of days.  While both the states were in desperate need for the rains such heavy rains in a short span of time is unlikely to help the farming community.

Weather_Update

The rain bands are likely to  move slightly to the West compared to the last couple of days nevertheless under the influence of the Low Pressure in Bay heavy rains are likely to continue over many places in AP & TS as the trend of very slow movement is likely to be seen today as well.

Tamil Nadu is likely to see mostly fair weather across the state with South Tamil Nadu likely to see another very hot day under blazing afternoon sun.  North Tamil Nadu around Chennai could see day time temperature reach around 35 degrees.  There exists a slight possibility of some evening rains in Coastal TN to the South of Chennai.  This possibility could improve if the sea breeze front forms earlier than what models are estimating.
