With rains staying away for almost a fortnight now and expected to mostly stay away for the rest of the month it is time to Welcome Winter in Chennai. Pretty much it was dry for almost all across the state of Tamil Nadu except for the district of Thoothukudi & Tirunelveli. Tiruchendur has recorded 67 mm till 5:30 in the morning while neighboring Sattankulam has recorded 20 mm during the same time.
The situation is expected to be same today as well with pretty much dry weather across most parts of Tamil Nadu except for coastal region of Tamil Nadu. While parts of Delta region could receive isolated spells of rains the stretch between Rameswaram and Kanyakumari could see moderate rains with one or two places getting heavy rains. But mostly these rains are going to be isolated and confined to the South Coastal Tamil Nadu region.
In the meanwhile North Tamil Nadu will continue to be under the spell of dry weather with most of the places experiencing night time temperatures that is one or two degrees lesser than normal.
Chennai Weather Update: The conditions are perfect for the setting in of Winter in Chennai. We have been having fairly nippy weather during early mornings and is expected to continue further with night time temperatures expected to be below normal until the weekend thanks to the Dry Air Impact at Upper levels of the atmosphere.
