As the Easterly season winds down in the days to come, Tamil Nadu would start to see warmer days this week. It would be pretty much dry for most of Tamil Nadu except for may be one or two places in the Western Ghats and the Kanyakumari district. The day time temperature is expected to climb up over the next couple of days and the nights are also expected to be warmer.
Towards the end of the week in what possibly could be the last easterly wave of the season many places in Tamil Nadu could see some rains. Coastal areas especially in south Tamil Nadu could see spells of heavy rains. There is a fair possibility of some isolated rains for Chennai as well. The actual rainfall prospects would depend on how much latitude the easterly wave climbs up.
A detailed analysis would be put up in the COMK blog as the easterly wave firms up over the next day or two.
In the meanwhile lets hope the dice rolls in our favour and we get some decent spells of rains so that the summer is not going to be as bad as it could turn out to be with water scarcity.
