World’s Smallest Tropical Cyclone – Tropical Storm Marco (2008)

In Yesterday’s post we had mentioned about Tropical Cyclone Tracy in comparison to Super Typhoon Tip.  Tropical Cyclone Tracy was a very small cyclone that struck Darwin severely.  It was then the smallest cyclone with gale force winds extending only to about 50 kms area.

In the year 2008 Tropical Storm Marco formed in the North Atlantic Basin around October 6th.  Forming very close to land despite rapid intensification reaching upto 100 kmph peak wind speeds it did not become a very large system.
