In keeping with the trend over the last few days parts of South Chennai received light spells of rains last night. Places around Tambaram, Adyar etc received these spells of rains.
Southwest Monsoon Update: The low over Bay of Bengal now lies over Chhatisgarh in Eastern Central India. Due to this low pressure parts of Central India has been receiving heavy rains and rains are expected to continue over many parts of Composite MP, Odisha, Chhatisgarh, Coastal AP,Telengana, and parts of Maharashtra. Western Coastal Peninsular India will continue to get rains particularly around Coastal Karnataka region from the Offshore trough and the moisture incursion by the Low.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Most parts of Tamil Nadu would remain dry with partly cloudy skies. Places in North TN could see day time temperatures around 37°C while few places in South TN could cross 38°C. Places in the Western Ghats around Nilgiris / Valparai could see spells of heavy rains. Extreme North Coastal TN could see isolated thunderstorms towards the evening, this could give light spells of rains.
Chennai Weather Update: Warm day that could see temperature cross 36°C. Towards evening thunderstorms could develop at isolated places west of the city which could give spells of light rains in parts of the city.
