Chennai Weather – Rainy Weekend on the cards

Last evening many areas of Chennai received rains with the IMD Weather station in Nungambakkam receiving 5.5 mm of rains.  Many places over North Tamil Nadu received heavy rains with Chetpet, Vandavasi, Sriperumbudhur & Walajahpet receiving more than 50 mm rains during the evening & night.

Southwest Monsoon Update: Monsoon trough continues to be parked near the Himalayas,  the rains are now pretty much confined to the Himalayan region aided by couple of UAC at either end of the trough.  The UAC over East India is providing heavy rains over Northeast India as an expected low pressure evolves over North Bay.  Off shore Trough over West Coast is bringing in a lot of lower level moisture providing rains to many places of Coastal Peninsular India.  Interior places of Peninsular India will benefit from the instability created by the wind convergence at Mid level. Places in South Karnataka & Rayalseema would benefit from this condition

Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Many places of North & West Tamil Nadu are expected to get rains due to the above mentioned instability.  It is going to be a cloudy day for most places of the state with very pleasant temperature & spells of on and off rains during the day.  A few places could receive heavy spells as the day progresses.

Chennai Weather Update: Very Pleasant day on the cards with cloudy skies all through the day.  The city would receive on and off spells of rains with occasional heavy spells in a few areas.  Today the temperatures are expected to be around 30°C.  Let us enjoy Chennai Weather as a Chennaiyil Oru Kodaikanal day.
