Southwest Monsoon Update: The Low Pressure (LPA) in Bay of Bengal lying just off Odisha / North AP coast is expected to be intensify into a Well Marked Low in the next couple of days. The progress of this disturbance would depend a lot on the possible movement of “Tropical Storm Vamco” currently lying of Vietnam. In the event it moves into Bay of Bengal as expected by some models this LPA could possibly move West for survival.
The LPA is expected to provide more rainy days to most parts of Odisha, some areas of Chhatisgarh West Bengal & Jharkhand. Parts of Central India would benefit from wind convergence. West Coast is expected to enjoy a good day of rains thanks to the moisture drag that is going to happen across the region as the LPA pulls in from the Bay.
North Andhra Pradesh, Telengana is expected to receive heavy rains at many places today as well thanks to the LPA. Places in North Coastal AP particularly around Vishakapatnam / Srikakulam could get spells of very heavy rains today. Hyderabad could see spells of heavy rains once again today after a couple of days break. Parts of Peninsular West Coast could benefit from lower level moisture drag across the Peninsula.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Partly cloudy skies for North TN with temperatures in plains around 35°C. South TN with clearer skies is expected to have another very hot day with temperatures in the plains around 38°-39°C. Later in the evening extreme North TN could get some isolated rains. Places like Vellore / Arakkonam could get benefited from these thunderstorms.
Chennai Weather Update: Partly cloudy skies with day time temperature around 35°C. One or two areas could get late evening showers from remnant thunderstorms moving in from the west.
