Overnight rains lashed many parts of Chennai with heavy rains lashing areas in South Chennai around Tambaram and South of Tambaram . To the west places around Poondi, Tamaraipakkam also received heavy rains. Rains are expected to continue over most parts of Peninsular India.
Southwest Monsoon Update: A monsoon low has formed over West Central Bay off Odisha / North AP coast. Thanks to this low many parts of East India & Peninsular India could receive spells of heavy rains over the next couple of days. Few places in Odisha & Coastal AP could receive very heavy spells of rains. This low is also expected to trigger moisture incursion over West Coast to provide some much needed rains over Konkan Maharashtra region.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: North Coastal TN could benefit from a wind induced instability thanks to the Low Pressure. This could trigger another rainy day over most parts of North TN with one or two places getting heavy spells of rains especially along the Vellore / Tiruvallur region.
Chennai Weather Update: Another Rainy day on the cards for Chennai with mostly cloudy skies during the day and spells of on and off rains during the day. Towards the evening the spells of rains could be heavier with most parts of the city getting good spells of rains. Day time temperatures could be pleasant around 32°-33°C
