Yesterday saw a warm day for Chennai at 36.1°C. In the evening isolated rains gave some relief to few areas in North Chennai. Madhavaram & Puzhal received 7 mm, while Ennore port received 5 mm.
Southwest Monsoon Update :The Well Marked Low (WML) that was in Bay of Bengal is now just off the coast of Odisha & North AP interacting with the land. It is now expected to weaken slightly in the days to come and move in a W/NW direction.
This is expected to give heavy rains to parts of Odisha & Chhatisgarh with a few areas in Jharkhand & possibly Vidharba region also getting spells of heavy rains. Rest of East India would benefit for good rains with one or two heavy spells. West Coast particularly around the Konkan region would get compensated for the poor July & August with another day of heavy rains along the coast and Ghats.
Coastal Karnataka & Kerala will experience possible spells of heavy rains while North AP & Telengana could get another day of isolated heavy rains with most places getting good rains.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Partly cloudy skies over North TN with day time temperatures touching around 35°C in the plains. South TN could have clearer skies and consequently higher day time temperatures around 37°C in most places.
Mostly dry weather is expected to prevail over Tamil Nadu with isolated thunderstorms expected in the evening over extreme North TN.
Chennai Weather Update: Another hot day expected with temperature expected to cross 36°C during the day. Isolated thunderstorms may develop late evening to provide relief to a few areas in the city.
