Southwest Monsoon Update: The monsoon axis is now back along the foothills extending to Northeast India.  This is an indication of the Monsoon break conditions that is likely to prevail for a few days.  The UAC over Bihar is likely to provide some good rains over East India. Places in Northeast India could get exceptionally heavy spells of rains thanks to the Moisture from Bay getting trapped along the hills due to the Orographic Lift.  The weak off shore trough along the west coast could give some moderate rain opportunities for parts of Coastal Karnataka.  Convective thunderstorm possibilities exist for few parts of South Karnataka and adjoining region of Rayalseema.

Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Most parts of Tamil Nadu would see fairly clear skies with temperatures around 37°C.  North Coastal TN could start the day with cloudy weather thanks to the overnight thunderstorms with the skies clearing as the day progresses.  Towards evening a few thunderstorms could develop around Vellore / Arakkonam areas of North Coastal TN which could give some rains.  Like yesterday the storms are likely to move slowly which could potentially give heavy rains to one or two places.

Chennai Weather Update: Pleasant morning to start with under cloudy skies with one or two isolated drizzle.  As the day progresses the skies could clear up for the temperatures to settle around 35°C.   Towards late evening as the thunderstorms developing in the interior areas to the West slowly moves towards the coast a few places could receive spells of rains as the evening gives away to the night.
