Last evening many places South of Chennai along the Tambaram – Mahablipuram stretch got good rains while one or two places around Airport got passing drizzle. North & West Chennai had to live with humid evening which became better as the night came on.
Southwest Monsoon Update: Monsoon active along the foothills of the Himalayas and over Karnataka coast in Western Peninsular India. A possible low could evolve along the Odisha coast with the merging of the two Upper Air Cyclonic Circulations in North & Central Bay within the next 48 hours. This could potentially move in a Westerly direction providing rains to Central India once again. In the meanwhile parts of Central India & Odisha would receive rains from Moisture incursion by the UAC while potentially a zone of instability is developing in Peninsular India due to Mid level Line of Wind Discontinuity which could give rains to many places of Rayalseema, Coastal AP & some parts of Telengana & Karnataka with potential rains to a few places in North TN as well
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Partly cloudy skies in North TN and clearer skies in South TN. Temperatures could be around 37°C in many places of North TN while places in South TN especially around Madurai could potentially touch 39°C. North TN in in line to get potential rains from Convective thunderstorms aided by the Instability created by mid level LWD.
Chennai Weather Update: Pleasant morning due to the overnight thunderstorms in the region leading to cloudy skies early in the morning. Skies to clear as the day progresses leading to a warm day around 37°C. Good chance of evening thunderstorms providing rains to many parts of Chennai that could continue with on and off spells through the night till early morning of Tuesday.
