The Depression over South Bay continues to slowly churn to the East of Sri Lanka, now lying about 500 kms to the East of Batticaloa. Whether the effect of staying in the lower latitudes or possibly the impact of moving in a moderate shear zone the depression continues to show erratic development struggling to get its organization right.
Yesterday it was showing some bit of intensification with a some organization while today’s satellite images once again shows a loosely organized structure with no proper development of outflows indicative of an intensifying system. We try to provide an inference on what could be the reason for this loose organization & how the interaction with Sri Lankan land mass is never a straight forward event as this system continues to jog in a Westward path.
