Last Night saw heavy rains over many areas of Chennai and other surrounding areas. The rains were very heavy in the Western Suburbs like Poonamalleee & Chembarambakkam. The IMD observatory in Nungambakkam received 28 mm of overnight rains.

Last night saw isolated rains over parts of North Tamil Nadu with places like Kalavai, Chidambaram, Tiruvallur receiving moderate rains. IMD’s Observatory in Nungambakkam also received spells of overnight rains.
Chennai Weather – Overnight Rains in parts of Chennai, set to continue
Overnight rains lashed many parts of Chennai with heavy rains lashing areas in South Chennai around Tambaram and South of Tambaram . To the west places around Poondi, Tamaraipakkam also received heavy rains. Rains are expected to continue over most parts of Peninsular India.
