Last night saw heavy rains lash many parts of Chennai with the IMD Weather station recording 45 mm while Meenambakkam recorded 34 mm. Areas in extreme South OMR like Thaiyur / Kelambakkam also received good rains during this spell.

Chennai Weather – Warm Days are back
Last couple of days has seen Tamil Nadu receive isolated rains with the rain bands now shifted to the North of us. South AP & Rayalseema region continues to enjoy the rains while parts of North Karnataka & Telengana received very heavy rains last evening.
Southwest Monsoon Active over West Coast
Yesterday saw places near Tambaram & OMR receive fairly heavy spells of rains in the evening. While late in the night places like Tiruvallur, Ambattur, Avadi, Poonamallee received isolated spells of rains. Many areas in the city received passing showers with the city missing out on any meaningful spell of rains.
Southwest Monsoon – Heavy Rains Lash Peninsular India
In what was possibly the most wide spread rains in this year’s Southwest Monsoon season heavy rains lashed many parts of Rayalseema, South Karnataka & Coastal AP regions. Chennai Weather – Rainy Sunday on the cards
Yesterday rains were less widespread and lower in intensity over most parts of Tamil Nadu though places in Western Tamil Nadu received isolated spells of rains. Places around Tambaram & Red Hills received a short duration high intensity rainfall yesterday afternoon with Puzhal recording 24 mm from one hour’s rain.
