Under the influence of the Well Marked Low Pressure that is lying off the coast of North AP / Odisha fairly widespread rains have been happening over Telengana, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha & neighboring Chhattisgarh. This low pressure has now not only given rains to the North Eastern areas of Deccan Plateau it has also improved the monsoon surge over Konkan coast of Maharashtra as well.
The high clouds are likely to dominate the weather over North Tamil Nadu with temperatures expected to stay lower than normal in a likely repeat of yesterday while parts of South Tamil Nadu is likely to see warmer day time conditions due to clearer skies and the continuing absence of good monsoon surge over South & Central Kerala.
Today also fairly widespread rains are likely to prevail over Andhra Pradesh & Telengana with a few places in North Coastal AP, Telengana, adjoining Chhattisgarh and Odisha likely to see heavy rains. One or two places could also see very heavy spells of rains in the next 24 hours as the Well Marked Low continues in its slow journey of moving East to West. The West Coast could see an active rainfall day over Konkan, North Karnataka Coast while South Karnataka & North Kerala could see isolated heavy spells in a few places.
One or two places in the Western Ghats of Tamil Nadu in Nilgiris & Coimbatore districts could see a spell or two of moderate rains during the day. Rest of TN likely to remain dry over the next few days.
