After many days Tamil Nadu saw one of the quietest day yesterday on the rain front with Southwest Monsoon slowing down in Kanyakumari & Nilgiris districts while interiors & Coastal ares pretty much saw no convective thunderstorms. In the same context rains have slowed down in Coastal ares of Kerala & South Karnataka as well with the rain bands moving up slightly to the North under the influence of the Low Pressure Area over Saurashtra & Kutch.
Today also Numerical Models indicate the monsoon surge is expected to be stronger over the northern reaches of Peninsular India with coastal Maharashtra, the high ranges of Shahayadri and parts of Gujarat expected to enjoy the heavier spells. Most parts of Kerala & South Karnataka will be under the influence of slightly weaker monsoon conditions with light to moderate rains expected in these places. Numerical Models also indicate mostly dry weather to prevail across most of Tamil Nadu.
Maximum Temperatures are expected to stay above normal across most of Tamil Nadu with warm day expected in most places of the state. With Monsoon weakening to our West we could possibly see slightly more clearer skies leading to the increase in day time temperatures. Westerlies are likely to hold firm sway over the proceedings with models expecting weak sea breeze to bring some respite to coastal areas like Chennai during the evening.
All in All a Warm Day Ahead with less possibilities of Rains over Most parts of Tamil Nadu.
