The seasonal dry and hot weather in Tamil Nadu continues to persist with Trichy, Vellore, Tiruttani & Tirupathur recording above 40°C yesterday. Tirupathur thus became the 8th town in Tamil Nadu to touch 40°C mark for the year 2017. In the meanwhile we are likely to see the first seasonal low pressure form in Bay of Bengal around Tamil New Year’s Day which is likely to play a role in the change of wind directions in the coming days to Westerlies bringing the real summer upon Tamil Nadu.
The trend of hot and dry weather in Tamil Nadu will continue to persist for a few more days as indications from numerical models are the up coming disturbance in Bay of Bengal may not turn out to be beneficial for Tamil Nadu from the rainfall perspective as things stand. We will continue to monitor the evolution of this disturbance and keep our readers posted.
Hot Weather in Tamil Nadu will be seen today as well particularly in the interior places among the usual suspects. Numerical Models indicate most places of interior Tamil Nadu in Vellore, Trichy, Karur, Namakkal, Tiruvannamalai & Madurai districts to see temperatures in the region of 39 / 40°C while coastal areas will possibly see slightly better conditions under the moderating influence of the Easterlies / Sea Breeze around mid afternoon
