The last couple of days have seen isolated rains over Coastal Tamil Nadu under the influence of the Easterlies. In particular yesterday saw places in Delta & south coastal Tamil Nadu record moderate rains. Vedaranyam, Adirampattnam and Paramakkudi recorded 4 cms rains for the 24 hours ending 8:30 AM, 14th February 2017. Similarly light rains were recorded in few other places as well in the state along the coast.
Now the effect of Easterlies have started waning as indicated by the dip in temperatures over Chennai. With the moisture in the air brought in by the Easterlies reducing we will see drier conditions return back over the next few days. This will bring back the warm days over most parts of the state with clearer skies returning. Similarly we can see the slightly cool mornings also return as well though abnormally cold mornings are not yet on the cards.
Chennai is likely to see day time temperatures in the region of 32°C while night time minimum temperature should settle around a very comfortable 22°C.
