Ask many a foodie they will say Biryani is not just a word but an emotion, similarly you ask many a weather blogger he will say Thunderstorms is not just a word an emotion. The Pre Monsoon & post monsoon thunderstorms are in a way elixir for many interior places which normally do not get directly benefitted from either of the monsoons. While it is debatable whether are these pre monsoon thunderstorms effectively unseasonal as we come across crop damages etc through hailstorms, like the one that hit parts of Bengaluru yesterday. While parts of South Interior Karnataka saw very heavy spell of rains accompanied by Hailstorms in many places, adjoining areas of Rayalaseema & Tamil Nadu too recorded good rains. The IMD Observatory at Salem recorded nearly 3 cms while parts of Vellore, Krishangiri dts also recorded moderate rains.
With wind instabilities continuing to persist today once again we are likely to see thunderstorms continue in the interior parts of Peninsular India with the region of South Interior Karnataka / Rayalaseema / Interior Karnataka tri junction being a hotspot for some moderate to intense thunderstorms. Tiruvannamalai, Salem & Tirupatthur dts could see heavy spell of rains in a few places during the afternoon / evening hours
