In what was possibly the most wide spread rains in this year’s Southwest Monsoon season heavy rains lashed many parts of Rayalseema, South Karnataka & Coastal AP regions. Bagaluru in Bengaluru Urban district received 126 mm last night in a spell that lasted less than couple of hours while Kambadur in Anantapur district & Palamaner in Chittoor district received more than 120 mm from overnight rains. Pernambet in Vellore district received 63.5 mm from the same overnight spell of rains
Southwest Monsoon Update: Southwest Monsoon continues to be active in Southern Peninsula & parts of NE India. A developing UAC over North Bay could bring in heavy rains to parts of Northeast India in places like Nagaland & Manipur while other places in East India could receive isolated spells of rains. Parts of Odisha, Marathwada, Chhatisgarh & Vidharbha could benefit from the mid level wind convergence providing for isolated spells of rains in these regions.
Southern Peninsula would continue to have an active Southwest Monsoon day today as well aided by the strong cross equatorial moisture flow at lower levels and Wind convergence at Mid Level. Parts of Telengana & North Karnataka could see isolated spells of heavy rains while most parts of Karnataka & Composite Andhra would get another day of good rains. West Coast could benefit from the lower level westerlies bringing in the moisture with one or two places seeing heavy rains over Central Kerala & South Karnataka.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Cloudy skies for most parts of Tamil Nadu with few isolated spells of rains during the day. Day time Temperature could settle around 33°C in the plains. North TN & West TN could see some isolated thunderstorms during the evening which could give rains in Vellore, Krishnagiri, Tiruvallur, Tiruvannamalai & Kanchipuram districts.
Chennai Weather Update: Early morning passing showers in a few areas with a mostly cloudy day right through with temperatures possibly pleasant at around 32°-33°C. Towards evening possibility of thunderstorms.
