Yesterday was another extremely hot day for Chennai with Nungambakkam crossing 39 Degrees almost 3 degrees above normal. The sea breeze that set in around afternoon was weak which pretty much did not help the situation. Tiruttani received about 30 mm rains from the rains that happened last evening.
Tamil Nadu Weather Update: It is expected to be another hot day for North Coastal Tamil Nadu with possibly one or two places touching 40 Degrees as day time maximum temperature. Towards evening there would be some isolated thunderstorms in North Interior Tamil Nadu. Extreme South Tamil Nadu along the areas adjoining Kerala could receive some spells of showers as the Break in Monsoon continues. One or two places could receive occasional heavy spells of rains.
Chennai Weather Update: Another extremely hot day on the cards with temperature expecting to be above 39 degrees with possibly inching towards 40. Sea Breeze could set in like yesterday around 2 PM though unlike yesterday it is expected to make a firm push into inland today going by model data/
Last evening saw thunderstorms reach up to Sri Perumbudhur and ended up dissipating which prevented Chennai getting any rains. Today the chances are looking less as of now for Chennai city to receive any meaningful rains from the thunderstorms expected to form over Interior North Tamil Nadu but if the expected strong early sea breeze happens the dynamics might change.
