The last few days Chennai Weather was comfortable right through the day with early mornings and evenings extremely pleasant as well. Traditionally June is one of the most uncomfortable months for Chennai due to the late onset of sea breeze during this period. But we have been lucky with weather this week thanks to the low pressure in Bay of Bengal
Today could possibly be the last day of the mini winter we had amidst our summer as the low pressure now starts to climb up the latitude and become a depression. The depression is expected to cross possibly Odisha Coast and get embedded in the Monsoon trough and move further Northwest bringing the onset of Monsoon to most places of Central India & the Gangetic Plains. This depression could provide heavy spells of rains to most parts of Coastal AP, Telangana and some parts of Odisha & Chhatisgarh.
On the other side of the Indian Sub continent the Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation off the Gujarat Coast could possibly become a Low Pressure Area within the next 24 hours Under the influence of this evolving low heavy rains are expected to continue over the Konkan coast between Karwar and Vapi. Mumbai & adjoining regions could see another 24 hours of moderate rains with intermittent heavy spells.
Chennai will possibly have its last pleasant day in the current spell today, from tomorrow the temperatures are expected to get back to to about 35 / 36 Degrees bringing along with it the sultry evenings as well. There could be some isolated drizzles / light rains towards the evening.
The change in weather would also start to bring us the late night thunderstorm possibilities which will improve once the Southern Peninsula is firmly out of the influence of the Depression in the Bay.
