In what was another day of Summer Heat & Thunderstorms many parts of Tamil Nadu saw moderate thunderstorm activity bringing rains to parts of Trichy after what was a very hot day when temperatures touched 41.8ºC giving much relief in the evening to the citizens of the Rock Fort city. For the 5th day in a row parts of West Interior TN also recorded good rains with places in Salem & Erode district benefiting from late afternoon thunderstorms along with adjoining parts of South Interior Karnataka where many places in Bengaluru recorded afternoon hailstorms.
Today could be another day of heat over interior parts of the state while coastal places like Chennai could see temperatures remain under control similar to the past few days as Sea Breeze keeps a check on temperature spike. While places like Trichy could enjoy marginal respite on account of overnight thunderstorms most parts of Interior TN will remain a couple of degrees above normal.
As far as thunderstorm activity goes today we could see the thunderstorm activity shift slightly to the west on account of the Easterlies penetrating further inland bringing more places of Karnataka & Kerala under the thunderstorm window. Consequently storms could slow down over Tamil Nadu with only places along the Western ghats benefitting from the convergence of winds.
